How to cancel a ReelShort, DramaBox, ShortMax or GoodShort subscription (and stop the weekly charge)

By GASP editors · October 2, 2026

Short drama passes renew every week, and the weekly price is easy to forget. ReelShort’s weekly VIP is $14.99 on the web; in-app weekly passes on these apps go up to $19.99. Over a month that’s $60 to $80 for a pass you may have bought for one drama.

First thing to know: deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Google says it plainly: “When you uninstall the app, your subscription won’t cancel.” You have to cancel in the place you paid.

Step 1: work out where you paid

  • On an iPhone or iPad, almost always through Apple. Cancel in Settings (below).
  • On an Android phone, almost always through Google Play. Cancel in the Play Store (below).
  • On the app’s website with a card or PayPal. Cancel in your account on that website.

If you’re not sure, check your email for the receipt. It comes from Apple, Google, or the app itself.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

These are Apple’s steps:

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap the drama app’s subscription.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find it.

Cancel on Android

These are Google’s steps:

  1. On your Android device, go to Subscriptions in Google Play.
  2. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.

Cancel a subscription bought on the app’s website

ReelShort. ReelShort’s terms say you can cancel at any time: log in to your account, go to the VIP page and follow the Subscription Management instructions. Cancellation takes effect immediately and you won’t be charged for future billing periods. Source: ReelShort terms.

GoodShort. GoodShort’s terms say you can cancel at any time and keep access until your paid period ends. If you subscribed through an app store, you need to cancel through that store. Source: GoodShort terms.

DramaBox and ShortMax. We couldn’t find official web cancellation instructions for either. If you paid through Apple or Google, use the steps above. If you paid on their website, look for a subscription or VIP section in your account, and contact their support from inside the app.

Can you get your money back?

Mostly no, from the apps themselves:

  • ReelShort’s terms call subscription payments final and non-refundable except where the terms say otherwise. For wrong charges, its terms give a support address: [email protected].
  • GoodShort’s terms say payments are non-refundable, but you keep access until the end of your billing cycle. Its general contact is [email protected].

If you paid through Apple or Google, you can ask the store instead. They decide case by case:

How to avoid paying for weeks you don’t watch

  • Cancel right after you subscribe. On iPhone and Android you usually keep access until the paid week ends, and you won’t forget later.
  • Line up what you want to watch first, then buy one week and finish everything in it.
  • Check whether coins are cheaper. For a short drama, coins often cost less than a week’s pass. Every drama page on GASP shows both prices, and here’s what every ReelShort drama costs to finish.
