How to cancel ShortMax
Cancel in the place you paid: Apple, Google Play, or ShortMax's own website. Deleting the app does not stop the charge. A pass renews every week until you cancel it where you bought it.
First, where did you pay?
- On an iPhone or iPad: almost always through Apple.
- On an Android phone: almost always through Google Play.
- On ShortMax's website, with a card or PayPal: in your account there.
Not sure? Look for the receipt in your email. It comes from Apple, from Google, or from ShortMax.
Cancel ShortMax on iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the ShortMax subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to find it.
These are Apple's steps. No Cancel button, or an expiry date shown in red, means it is already cancelled. Apple Support
Cancel ShortMax on Android
- On your Android phone, open Subscriptions in Google Play.
- Select the ShortMax subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
These are Google's steps. Google Play Help
If you paid on ShortMax's website
ShortMax's terms say you can cancel auto-renewal at any time before the next renewal, which is charged 24 hours before the subscription expires, and point to the "About Subscription" section in the app for the steps. Cancellation takes effect the day after your current subscription period ends.
Can you get your money back?
The terms say refunds "will not be entertained" unless the paid product or service is unusable because of ShortMax, in which case you contact them with the purchase details and proof.
If you paid through Apple or Google you can ask the store instead, and it decides case by case: Apple's refund request, Google Play's refund policy.
For a charge you think is wrong, ShortMax's terms give this address: [email protected].
Before you subscribe again
- Cancel right after you buy a week. Through Apple or Google you normally keep the week you paid for, and it will not renew.
- Line up what you want to watch first, then buy one week and finish it.
- See how much of a drama is free before you pay for any of it: look it up here.
