The independent guide to short dramas and AI films

Two new kinds of screen story are being made faster than anyone can keep up with: one-minute-an-episode dramas on the apps, and films made with AI video tools. GASP is where they are tracked, sorted and judged: one of the most complete records of what the short drama apps publish, and a catalog of the AI films that deserve an audience, chosen by people who make films themselves.

What we do

• For short dramas: how many episodes are free, where the paywall starts, what it costs to finish, who is in it and how it ends, for every drama we can read on the apps' own pages. Browse the dramas.
• For AI films: a hand-picked catalog of films worth watching, each playing from its maker's own channel, with who made it, the awards it has won and the tools the maker names. See the films.
• For creators: we list independent work for free, and we help films made in China reach viewers outside it. What we do for creators.

What makes us different

• We don't sell a tool or run an app. A film can be made with any tool and a drama can be on any app. Nobody we cover owns us.
• We are the bridge from China. Much of the best AI filmmaking is happening in China and is reported there first. We read it at the source and bring it into English, with the sources attached, often before anyone else does.
• We make films ourselves. The people behind GASP have made AI films since the tools first allowed it and have built audiences of more than a million followers. We pick films as practitioners, not as spectators.
• We count things. Prices, free episodes, view counts and release dates are read every day, and our research is free to quote.

How we choose films

• A film is listed for what it is, not for what it was made with.
• It plays from the channel of the person or studio that made it. We never embed a re-upload, and we host nothing ourselves.
• Awards are listed only when we can point to the source.
• We say only what we know. Where we have not watched a film closely enough to describe it, we quote the maker's own description instead of inventing one.
• Nobody can pay to be listed or to rank higher. If a maker asks us to remove a film, we remove it.

How we earn money

Some links to the drama apps are affiliate links: if you install an app or unlock episodes after following one, the app may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes a ranking, a list or a number on this site. We earn nothing from the AI films we list. The full disclosure is here.

How we work

• Every figure comes from a public page we can name, and every drama page shows the date we last checked it. How each number is produced.
• We don't copy plot summaries and we never host episodes or films.
• We don't invent ratings, reviews or vote counts. Reader ratings come only from readers.
• When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.

Who runs it

GASP is run by working AI filmmakers and channel operators. We have been making films with AI since the early days of the tools, and the channels we built have more than a million followers between them. So we judge a film the way people who make films do, and we know what it takes to get one watched.

We are independent: not owned by, or part of, any app, studio or tool company.
