Is GoodShort legit and safe?
Yes: it is a real app, run by a registered company and sold through Apple's and Google's stores. It is not a scam. What catches people out is the price: a few episodes are free, and the rest are charged one at a time or through a pass that renews every week.
Who runs it
GoodShort's terms of use name Singapore New Reading Technology PTE. LTD., a Singapore company at 8 Temasek Boulevard #39-02, Suntec Tower Three, according to the user agreement the app links to; the App Store lists the same company as the seller. The terms linked from the goodshort.com footer instead name Singapore INKNET PTE. LTD., 112 Robinson Road #03-01, Singapore. The terms are governed by Singapore law, with disputes going to binding arbitration at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

What it really costs
We track 3,501 GoodShort dramas. A typical one has 60 episodes and the first 9 are free. GoodShort does not publish a price per episode on its website, so we can't total a drama for you; check the unlock price in the app before you start.
- Look up a drama before you pay: every drama page here shows the free episodes.
- If you buy a weekly pass, cancel it straight away. You keep the week you paid for, and it won't renew.

Cancelling and refunds
GoodShort's user agreement says you can cancel at any time and keep access until the paid period ends, and that you must cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. If you subscribed through Apple or Google you cancel in that store's subscription settings; if you subscribed on the website you switch off "Renew" on the subscription page at goodshort.com.
The user agreement says "payments are non-refundable" except where the terms provide otherwise, with no partial refunds for cancelling mid-cycle, though GoodShort may choose to offer a refund at its own discretion. If you paid through Apple or Google, you can ask that store for a refund; they decide case by case.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The exact steps for iPhone, Android and the web are here. GoodShort's terms give this contact: [email protected].
