DramaBox listed 1,114 new dramas in September. Nearly half are tagged revenge.

By GASP editors · October 3, 2026

Keeping up with DramaBox is no longer possible by scrolling. On October 3, 2026 we went through DramaBox’s public list of English-language dramas, newest first, and counted what was added each day. September alone brought 1,114 new dramas.

The short version: DramaBox listed about 37 new dramas a day in September, up from 26 a day in August. Nearly half carry a revenge tag. Most land Monday to Wednesday. And DramaBox’s own scores barely separate good from bad.

How fast it’s growing

MonthNew dramasPer day
August 202679826
September 20261,11437

That’s 40% more than our count for August. A drama removed since its release isn’t in the list any more, so August may be a little low. The busiest single day was September 30, with 68 new dramas. The first three days of October were slower, at about 20 a day.

Wednesday23747
Thursday15038
Friday12932

Six out of ten September releases arrived Monday to Wednesday, and a typical Monday brought about three times as many as a typical Sunday. If you like to start something new on the weekend, most of the week’s releases are already there by Friday.

What they’re about

These are DramaBox’s own tags, counted across September’s 1,114 dramas. A drama usually carries three or four.

TagDramasShare

Fantasy22420%
Counterattack16815%
Forbidden Love15314%
Billionaire11911%
Rebirth757%
Werewolf686%
Mafia394%

Revenge is the most common tag by a wide margin. The usual shape: someone is wronged in the first few episodes and spends the rest getting even. Billionaires, werewolves and the mafia, the genres short dramas are famous for, are a much smaller slice of what’s being released now.

Shorter every month so far

Released inTypical length
July 202655 episodes
August 202650 episodes
September 202646 episodes

September’s shortest drama has 14 episodes and the longest has 110. Added up, the typical one runs about 69 minutes from first episode to last. Shorter dramas mean fewer locked episodes, so they usually cost less to finish.

How much is free

The typical September release gives you 9 free episodes, about 18% of the story.

Free episodesSeptember dramas
6 or fewer210
7 to 10760
11 or more144

The stingiest gives you 3 episodes and the most generous 26. DramaBox doesn’t publish a price per episode on the web, so we can’t total the cost of finishing one the way we do for ReelShort. Every drama page on GASP shows where its paywall starts.

Why DramaBox’s scores tell you very little

Every drama in DramaBox’s list carries a score out of 10. Across September’s releases, the typical score is 8.5. More than a third are 9 or higher. Not one of the 1,114 is below 7.

When everything scores between 7 and 10, the number tells you very little. Better signals:

  • Watch the free episodes. That’s what they’re for. If the opening doesn’t hook you, paying for the rest rarely fixes it.
  • Check how many episodes are locked before you start, so you know how much of the story sits behind the paywall.
  • Look for an official trailer. We show the app’s own YouTube video on a drama’s page when there is one.

How to keep up

Our new releases page shows the latest dramas grouped by day, and you can search by plot if you saw a clip and don’t know the title. For prices, free episodes and the most-watched titles, see our DramaBox guide.

Method: counted on October 3, 2026 from DramaBox’s public list of English-language dramas, using each drama’s shelf date and DramaBox’s own tags and scores. Free episodes and running times come from each drama’s own page. The list reached back to July 9, 2026 (2,355 dramas), so July is a partial month and is left out of the monthly totals. A drama removed after its release is no longer in the list, which can make older months look a little smaller than they were. We’ll repeat this count each month.
